BA-GWHAT?

Feng Shui uses a "ba-gua" or mapping chart to divide a home or room into nine areas based on the entrance, with each area related to an aspect of life to be enhanced.

All things that happen in life can be reduced down to nine categories or life situations.

This "ba-gua" grid gets superimposed over the home and over each room. We use the main door and the door to each room as the "mouth of chi," whereby all the energy enters. The door always enter into knowledge, career or helpful people section.

By placing objects, colors, elements and shapes with intentions in their corresponding quadrant you can activate, strengthen and enhance the energy of that particular area in your life.

This idea of using objects to redirect your focus on what you really want to create in life as opposed to what you don't want is not only akin to Feng Shui. In the early 1900's Roberto Assagioli, a well known Italian psycho-analyst and spiritualist, as well as a student of Freud noted that, "Holding new images before the eyes tend to produce the reality suggested by the image"

In other words: What you focus on grows! And even the things that are out of sight, like clutter, are not always out of mind. Objects act as metaphors. They condition your thoughts. You don't need to see them for them to have an impact on you! Take a look at what you complain about the most. It might be a clue to what's out of balance in your environment

The "ba-gua" brings order to your home, so you're no longer just randomly placing objects.
